One of my things I love that God has given me as a masterpiece, is my humor. All my life I have been able to bring laughter, it comes natural with me. When I was young I lost hearing in my left ear from German Measles, so therefore I could not hear if someone came up to me on that side, or behind me. And I always had to make sure I stood or sit where I could hear well. At school I always would sit where I knew I would hear the teachers and be able to talk to new friends I would meet.  At work I always would get in a position where I would be able to hear well.  Did this always succeed?  No, it didn’t 🙂

 One day at work my co-workers and I were working together on a project talking away and one of them started talking about “The Eagles” and I thought this was unusual because this co-worker was into music not nature, but I was listening to everyone ( I thought ); when I up and ask ” How big were the eagles?”  (which is a good question if that was what they were talking about), but then they all started laughing and commented ” Gail, we love you, you bring laughter when we need it”  ( of course I had no clue why 🙂 and then my co-worker went to explain that ” The Eagles” he was talking about was a “Music Group” not the “Live Flying Eagles”.  Then I started laughing.  Times through the years I could have gotten mad, angry, bitter from when I would misunderstand someone, BUT,  I didn’t.  GOD HAD TURN MY MESS INTO A MASTERPIECE!

The way I hear is natural for me.  I cannot tell you the number of times I did not catch every thing someone said or misunderstood ( and ask them to explain:0 ) but through it all, always laughter was the outcome.  I know God turned my hearing that could have been a “MESS INTO A MASTERPIECE  of laughter.  🙂

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10

    Psalm 126:2
    Then our mouth was filled with laughter
    And our tongue with joyful shouting;
    Then they said among the nations,
    “The Lord has done great things for them.”

  2. Gail, it is so awesome that you have allowed God to use what could have been a mess & make it your masterpiece. It would be too easy to become bitter & hateful when faced with a circumstance like you were dealt but I am so thankful to hear that it has been positive for you! Keep rocking on sweet sister!
